Alcohol remaining in your system: what to know
Residual alcohol is alcohol that remains in your body after you stop drinking. A new calendar day or feeling sober does not confirm that your blood alcohol level is zero.
The model follows the drinking period
The model does not discard drinks at midnight. If the end time is earlier than the start time, it treats the period as continuing past midnight.
Entering an evening drinking period
Enter the actual time period and add all drinks. For example, 21:00 to 01:00 means drinking began the previous evening and ended after midnight. The times refer to the most recently completed period.
The estimate may differ from a measurement
A missing drink or incorrect serving size changes the estimate. Even accurate entries cannot account for individual differences.
If you are deciding whether to drive
Do not rely on the model, the timeline colours or how you feel to decide whether to drive. The calculator cannot confirm that you are fit to drive.
