AlcoCalc

Widmark's formula and calculation of blood alcohol concentration (‰)

Widmark's approach estimates alcohol concentration from dose and body distribution. AlcoCalc uses a simplified implementation with model absorption and joint decay.

Benefit Basis

A = V × ABV / 100 × 0.789; model dose C = A / (m × r). V is the volume in ml, A is grams of ethanol, m is the mass in kg and r is the chosen distribution coefficient.

Time is not just subtraction

The tool breaks down consumption into time portions. During their absorption, it adds alcohol to the common level and at the same time subtracts the elimination from it. At each step, it bounds the result by zero.

Tool coefficients

r = 0.68 or 0.55, absorption 45 minutes, elimination 0.15 ‰/h. These values are fixed instrument assumptions, not individual calibration.

Restrictions

Body composition, food, medication, and health are not modeled directly. The text documents the implementation; does not constitute professional certification of the model.
